Humana Apparel improved OTDP by 10% with GSDCost
A standardised, data-driven approach to costing and SMV calculations has also enabled Humana Apparels to reduce costing & planning time by 10%, improve costing accuracy by 5%
About the customer :
Humana Apparels Pvt. Ltd. is a joint venture between Busana Apparel Group and Hameem Group, combining international operational expertise with advanced manufacturing capabilities in Bangladesh. Based in Gorai, Mirzapur, Tangail, the company employs approximately 2,400 people across 28 production lines with 1,800 sewing machines, producing up to 120,000 outerwear garments per month and generating an annual turnover of around USD $30 million.
The Challenge- Manual processes resulted in costing and planning inefficiencies and lost profits
Prior to implementing GSDCost, Humana relied on manual, Excel-based costing calculations which resulted in inconsistent and time-consuming processes, incorrect product costing, reduced profit margins, and delayed quotation submissions.
Unstandardised data consequently meant that each planner maintained separate spreadsheets, causing variation in planning accuracy and inefficient resource allocation. Without a centralised Standard Minute Value (SMV) database in place, it was difficult to benchmark new styles against past performance, slowing decision-making and limiting optimisation.
“Before GSDCost, our costing processes relied heavily on manual Excel files and experience-based estimations. This often resulted in inconsistent costing, operational inefficiencies, and limited visibility into our true production capacity.”

The Solution
Humana Apparels partnered with Coats Digital to move away from manual, experience-led costing towards a more structured and consistent approach to SMV and cost analysis.
Since its implementation of GSDCost, Humana Apparels has generated accurate costings faster, while optimising method improvements to reduce unnecessary production work hours. With a centralised operations database in place, Humana Apparels benefits from a single source of truth, which has greatly improved coordination across the engineering, planning, and merchandising teams.
The company’s costing accuracy has consequently improved by 5%; productivity has increased by 15% and OTDP has improved by almost 10%. The system has significantly enhanced Humana Apparel’s planning efficiency, operational control, and overall business performance, and has directly led to better business decisions and greater customer satisfaction.
“Humana Apparels selected Coats Digital for its strong global reputation in apparel manufacturing solutions and its deep understanding of garment production processes. With the implementation of GSDCost, we now have an accurate system for SMV calculation and costing. The solution has provided excellent visibility into our production capacity and enabled our teams to plan more effectively.”
Suresh Pradhan,
“Since implementing Coats Digital solutions, we have improved our costing accuracy by around 5%, increased productivity by around 15%, and improved our on-time delivery performance by nearly 10%. The system has significantly enhanced our planning efficiency, operational control, and overall business performance, which has led to more accurate delivery projections and greatly increased buyer confidence.”

GSDCost is the international standard for establishing and optimising accurate method-time-cost benchmarks for sustainable garment cost optimisation and manufacturing excellence.
